The name "Ahmed" was suggested by Hazrat Amina (R.A) while the name "Muhammad" was suggested by Hazrat Abdul Mutalib.

Hazrat Ali (R.A) was martyred on 21 Ramzan 40th Hijri Fajar prayer in the mosque of Kufa.
